Is My First Castle Panic good for kids? Age and difficulty
You and the other players are one team defending a castle from monsters marching in from the woods. On your turn you draw a card, play one that matches a monster's color and shape (or ask a teammate for theirs), then the monsters step closer. Catch them all before one knocks the castle flat.
What age is My First Castle Panic for?
Box says 4+
We suggest 4+ with an adult helping, 6+ on their own.
A turn is draw a card, play one that matches a monster's color and shape or ask a teammate for theirs, then move the monsters. Hands are open, so a 4 year old can be coached card by card. Three special monsters do a trick when they arrive (the Shover, Runner and Marcher) and one can chain into another, so a 6 year old is more likely to run a turn alone.
- Easy to learn
- 1 to 4 players
- 20 minutes
- About 3 minutes to set up (our estimate)
- Co-operative: everyone wins or loses together
No direct conflict between players. Content: Cartoon goblins and other monsters march at a castle and you catch them with cards. A monster can knock the castle flat, but nothing violent or scary is described.
